The friendly service and the rest of the atmosphere invite you to linger. The rooms are traditional and cozy. Our food was tasty. (Sauerbraten, pork knuckle, apple strudel) The brandies are also particularly recommended. Very fine and do not burn in the finish 😉

We had a particularly nice room with a wooden floor and beautiful old furniture. The dinner in the rustic inn was very tasty and the breakfast in Corona times was generous and individual with delicious delicacies. Really recommend!

We stayed here and were very impressed by the reception. The owners were very nice, we were able to check in later without any problems and were even picked up from the train station by car. It wasn't at all bad that the room was a bit small and simply furnished. The breakfast in the rustic dining room was also very successful. We were even allowed to store our luggage there afterwards. We were very satisfied.

Very good traditional German food. Friendly service (the waitresses wore the traditional gowns). The interior is also like you would imagine a traditional German restaurant would look like. This place is highly ranked on TripAdvisor and rightfully so but also very busy because of this. We had to wait 10 minutes to get a table, but it was worth the wait. Highly recommended.

The food tasted great, the service is very friendly, the atmosphere is rustic and cozy. It is advisable to reserve in good time, as the restaurant is very popular and accordingly well attended. Price-performance ratio is great. We would love to come back!

Where do I start? Service is outstanding... friendly, prompt and nothing is a problem. Now the food..... wow... just wow. We have been eating here for years and never once have we been disappointed. In Rothenburg it is THE ONLY place to eat steak. Hope to see you soon 😊 💓

Stayed here for a night and also had dinner. Very friendly owner, nice & good value accomodation and a delicious meal, venison goulash.

Really good food cozy place good atmosphere and a really good steak waiters constantly see if you are missing something. The cake is good can recommend the steak you order as a medium and they may well find out how to cook. They speak good English and you must book a table if you are going in. Highly recommended 5/5 from here.

What a great restaurant. Super tasty and super friendly. Especially if you like meat (of course there are also good vegetarian dishes on the menu), you can get wonderful dishes from steaks to local classics such as excellent shovels with great side dishes. Everything is well arranged, fresh and genuine handcraft. There should definitely be room for one of the great desserts. We liked it so much that we came back the next day 😊

My husband and I stumbled onto this restaurant on the way to another restaurant. We took a peak into the windows and decided to give this lovely little gem a chance!! And I have to say, what an amazing gem we found! We enjoyed our meal from start to finish. We started with a delicious French Onion Soup! Then we each order steak, my husband Rib eye and myself Filet, both were cooked perfectly! Just as we requested! He had homemade French Fries. I had a baked potato with sour cream and Chives! Just fabulous! Our waitress was friendly and assisted us, as the menu was only part English! We are beyond thrilled with the food and service and highly recommend this beautiful old world magical find!!

Typical Bavarian hotel restaurant. Sympathy and dedication are not lacking. Just below the main road; the decor is rustic. The restaurant hall, not very large, holds up to 50 seats. Nice opportunity to relax.

Tried at recommendation of local grocer; didn't disappoint. Great service and excellent food. Pig knuckle was fabulous, nice and crispy. Very good goulash soup. Place always packed- must make reservation.

Excellent German traditional food

Authentic German food! As a tourist, I enjoyed it. But I was with a German friend that did not appreciate that much

Food was rather good, similar in quality to many other places, but the waiter who explicitly asked us if we were willing to tip her when she brought the bill was very rude and brash. Indeed it is completely irrelevant in Germany since service is included in the price of the meal. The tip is NOT compulsory but left to the goodwill of the customer. The greediness of the staff demonstrates that tourists are treated like cash cows in this pretty town of Rothenburg.

Wow. Just wow. You have to get the baked potatoe with the sour cream. Literally the most amazing. The beef that I got was okay, I probably wouldn't get it again, but my friend who got the steak said it was one of the best steaks of his life!!

The place is decorated as typically in this old village. Very nice For food I ordered a ribeye with baked potato. It was delicious Service was great, speaking perfect English that helps a lot

Charming place with a lot of history. The building is 600 years old, and very romantic. The location is perfect for a few days in Rothenburg. The room was very clean and the staff was very helpful, among others they helped us with parking location. The breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended. If we’re going to Rothenburg again, we will definitely stay here.

Very delicious restaurant with a rustic decor. There are also a few tables in front of the restaurant. All meat dishes, especially from the grill are absolutely recommended. The service was attentive, fast and friendly. Absolute recommendation!

Very nice restaurant! Not in the middle of the city centre so it is much more quiet! But better reserve a table! I listen to the recommendation from the service and enjoy a ver nice dry white wine from the area around! Also main course “fränkische Schäufele” I enjoyed a lot and would recommend to everyone! So sit down - enjoy location, wine & food! I will come again when I am around!

Prompt customer service, friendly waiters and delicious food in reasonable portions. I wasn't very hungry so they let me have a smaller portion..oh and also beautiful interiors and settings
